Q:

Cocobolo grip/foregrip set

Heres the set on the gun, washed out the pic with a 1000watt HPS. More pics in the gallery. Let me know what you guys think, especially the foregrip as this is an amalgam of all i like in a foregrip both visual and funtional. Sometimes this sort of thing works/looks good sometimes not. I like it, but i’m biased. The foregrip is not quite done, needs more work in the trigger guard area. No metal trigger guard with this one either. Hope you enjoy and can appreciate. Thanks for looking.

Thanks BB coming from a craftsman like yourself means alot. Lots of head scratching to figure out how to get all the design elements that i like into one foregrip and yet have it funtional and still look good. Didn’t know if guys would like it or not, just because its different.

That foregrip looks cool , like it lots 😀 . Must admit im not a huge fan of the Foxbat style of grip (just a personal chioce) , but i can see you ve done some sharp carving on that grip. Another happy buyer 😀

you,ll be right by saying almost walnut but grain,s not quite there .. bodi u should be sending me some wood lol i,m realy getting anoyed haveing to pay over the odds for the wood 😡

Those were the first two pics, looked at them, then decided to switch lighting. Looks like it should in the other photos. Hard to work, but i like the end results. Still not as grainy as Rabbits, would have loved a few more wide dark grains running through it.

What wood does it look like when its washed out? I’d say almost a walnut, except the grain is wrong.

Looks good. You can see it looks like Coco when it is darker.

mm not bad mate .. just looking at your coco it seems to be a tottlay differnt type off wood than the stuff i get but nice .. 8)

The Cocobolo I use has always been very dark. Bods looks lighter then usual.

I wonder if it sinks for floats?

Hows the other pics look in comparisson, big difference hey? I thought a 1000w high pressure sodium would have helped the pic, wrong. Must be the wavelength of the bulb. The others were taken with regular shoplites and forced flash, true to life color. It does sink almost like a rock.

Thanks for the compliment, has been a challenge, but well worth it.

Great Work! That’s my favorite so far. I Like It! Are ya gonna make any to sell? Is that an old King Sealey table saw?

Yup thats an old King Sealey. This set is spoken for, i can always do another. The grip is a winner, the foregrip i’d change out a bit. Pm me if your seriously interested. I have another AR styled skeletonized stock to do first, at least one maybe two. I’m setting up for winter work, as i’ll porbably be getting layed off in the next month or so. Can’t hardly wait for some shop time. I appreciate the complimant, put a lot of thought and work into this one.

Was working on the foregrip lastnite and know exactly how i’m going to finish it out, be sanding soon.

Very, very nice.

See the gallery pics. The front of the grip, finger grooves i waxed. Its alot darkr then in the pic. I’m going to try and have this molded and then have composites made. The pics below are what the wood looks like when they aren’t washed out with a 1000watt HPS lite, yes it sinks in water.
