Q:

CO2 Talon Newbie question.

Hey everybody… Can somebody give me a hand?

I have a Talon that is .22 and is regular air. I also use a hand pump.

I shoot exclusively indoors during the winter. CO2 seems kind of cool, 1000 shots would work well for me with no pumping! Right?

So what do I need to convert? Just the CO2 adapter and a tank?

Where can I get the tank and what kind? What about a buttplate? Do any CO2 users miss the buttplace?

Does anyone sell the CO2 adapter for under $100? In other words, who is cheapest?

Thanks a lot,

Lochman

Very good ribbonstone thx

More like 575-580 with 14.3gr pellets. Some of the lighter pellets (Silver Stings were tested) will get 611fps…faster, but less energy. Likes some old Silver Jets I had on hand for years, but are kind of hard to load…thos get a little abvoe 600 (602).

Every gun has pellet preference, tis one won’t shoot Crosman pellets worth a rat’s rump but shoots the black tin Benjamin/Sheridan’s great.

ribbonstone, what kind of fps are you getting with the SS on C02 with like a 14.3 gr? Just curious. I’m thinkin in the 600’s somewhere? May try it myself sometime when weather gets warmer.

Tried the various size tanks…seem to prefer the small 9oz. Know it gives fewer shots, but the lower face-fit seems to help.

Have long arms, so added a RAP4 gauged on/off and a little 9oz. butt placte (with a tank cover to keep from snuggling up to a cold co2 tank).
Will try a photo:

So what size tank is that one you got from Pyramyd? 20oz? Also, that buttplate looks good, where did you get that?

I got a 20oz tank. I found the butt plate at a local paintball store. It was manufactured by PMI.

Hrunting,

Looks, good! I just pumped my HPA tank last night with a hand pump, and that’s pretty dang hard! And I regularly lift weights!!! My wife was too small, she couldn’t pump it cause she lifted off the ground!

Yeah, I see CO2 in the future! : )

I bought the tank prefilled form Pyramyd Air as well as the adapter. I didn’t think the stock would work, but when it’s on upside down it’s the best $5 I’ve ever spent. It’s alot easier to maintain the same cheek weld because it keeps the tank in the same position.

As the last poster stated, will need the co2 adaptor ( $95-99) and a co2 tank. If your rifle is set up with the right scope height for the PCP tank, a 12oz. of 16pz. CO2 tank would be closest to the same face height/scope line.

CO2 tanks acan be found at paintball shops, K-mart, most large sporting goods stores, or on-line. FIND YOUR LOCAL PAINTBALL SHOP FIRST as you’ll need to have the tank filled with co2.

Speed will be much lower (as will noise) but you really can get a whole bunch of shots (probably over 1000 per 20oz. tank…so call it 50 shots per ounce (so you can guesstimate the number of shots for any given tank…ounces times 50).

Buy the adapter from Pyramid airgun they also can sell you a tank and probably a butt piece for it.

C02 tanks can be bought at paintball stores as well as walmart.
