Q:

CO2 adapter with remote hose ?

Has anyone ever thought about running their airforce rifles without a tank? I was thinking about using the remote line from a paint ball tank and connecting it to the co2 adapter. any thoughts?

It’s amazing how many people are thinking along the same lines but with so many variants…

I have been thinking of the same type of set up but different again with the usage, read on and you will probable work out my thought process before you get to the end.

.22 cal at 12FPE is great for up to 40 yard kills with bunnies and birds but it’s no where near enough for (accurate) longer shot for the same animals. Not to mention 12FPE is good to take down a fox at 15yards but not a chance in hell at 40 yards.

So a back pack adapted to hold two tanks, size don’t matter much so long as there are enough shots for the hunt/outing. I am thinking a 48cl with a 1400psi regulator and another around 20cl for a 700psi regulator (12FPE).

Next task is to find a way of connecting them all together. A simple way of doing this is to have two complete setups for the tanks and change over the cable for the different shot but this will be a bit noisy and time consuming.

The other option which will be more or less instant would be to find something that will fit into the end of the C02 adaptor with two inputs which are opened or closed with a switch. This will allow me, the shooter, to choose what tank to shoot with.

There are quite a few perks of this type of set up being:
1. The close up shots will be quieter when using the weaker regulator.
2. Through & through shots will not happen as often as you will be shooting with the right power for the job.
3. The longer shots are reachable as are the larger animals.

The other things to keep in mind are as follows:
1. POI – this will change with a weaker or more power full regulator so you will have to work out your aim points and remember them.
2. You will have to carry around this back pack all the time.
3. You will have to remember what tank goes to what hose.

awsome buddy, good job.

The adapter is a T style stock that is cut down. I left plenty of it so it could be epoxied into the tube of an adjustable buttstock. T adapter was 20 dollars. The coiled hose was near 30. Add a little more for misc hardware. The adjustable butt stock came of a broken but good quality airsoft gun.

If you are shooting from a bench it works pretty well. Not to bad if you are moving around but use a 9 oz co2 tank and put it in your pocket. A bleed valve would be a improvement.

Thats exsactly what i have been thinking bout doin but i couldent piece it all togeter in my mind. We dont have any acsessorys like you guys have in the US so the adapter makes it all posible. How have you made the t junktion in the hose?

Paintball stores have many remote bottle set ups. I used a standard bottle connector and a coiled flex line. Then I modified a T shaped buttstock by cutting off the T end and then epoxing an adjustable stock from an airsoft gun. Works fine. A bleed valve wold be an upgrade. About 50 bucks if you buy all new (excluding the airsoft gun buttstock).

Now that is cool!!!
What parts are needed to duplicate this set up, besides the gun and bottle?

Don’t use this as I went with a micro meter tank and rarely use CO2 now.[/img]
looks great!!
Cool set up,
Good thinking,
But…, is it not awkward shooting with no shoulder stock?

RAP4 makes a CO2 on/off with a gauge….my gauge went bad. Unscrewed the gauge (wich is kind of useless on CO2) and added a valved fill nipple. Odd thing is that RAP4 on/off’s gauge reads pressure from the gun side, not the tank side. .

Can run it from the co2 tank…then turn the valve to “off” and plug it to a remote. Becasue of the way the on/off is made, can keep a full tank of co2 (with the on-off on “off”) and run the rifle from a remote…..unhitch it from the remote, turn the tank to “on” and go about your wanderings with a full tank of co2.

Can also turn the on/off to “ON” and bulk fill the attached paintball tank without taking it off the rifle, if that urge strikes you.

Know they(Rap4) make a 90degree adaptor…basically it’s a paintball-to-paintball adaptor with a fill nipple jutting off the side.

quote WalkonKing:

Hey Joe!…..Why?

just wanted to try something new. carbine condor style.

So far i just dry fired it and it seems to have the same power. It feels much lighter too.

I would like to get one of those refill tanks for the Crossman discovery because it’s regulated output is 2000 psi.

My current tank outputs 1350 psi and gives me plenty of consistent shots. It shoots 830 fps with 14.3 gr pellets and 930 fps with 10.5 gr pellets.

Hey Joe!…..Why?

That is a good looking set up you have there! Does it work well? 🙂 🙂 🙂

i dont see why it shouldnt work…the co2 adaptor has a bit of volume to it so it would work as a buffer…
