Q:

charging with nitrogen instead of compressed air

Does anyone use nitrogen to charge their Condor instead of compressed air…if so, do you have to increase the PW setting to compensate? Also has anyone tested shot strings using nitrogen? Thanks, Allen.

Where did you get the tank? What did it cost? How much to refill?

I am going to talk to Airgas on tuesday to see how much it would cost me to rent a huge 6000 psi nitrogen tank. I will get back to you with the numbers as soon as I can.

Thanks for the reply guys…I noticed that I have to turn the power wheel alot to get any performance with Nitrogen…any of you gentlemen noticed the same?

Make sure of your fill pressure

Many common n2 tanks are 2250psi or so and larger tanks often 4500psi. You may be working on too low fill pressure or way over pressure.

Thanks David for the insight…Allen

Then you’ve got something else going on. I’ve used N2 from day one, my guns shoot the same or (very slightly) better on N2. That said, I’ve never owned or shot a Condor, but I have a Blodnob valve for one of my TSS’s, I can get the same or better performance as a Bird. Air Force just recently admitted you can use nitrogen in their guns. On a molecular level, the difference between compressed air and nitrogen is minuscule. Good luck.

N2 can be used just fine. The air we breath is 70+% N2. The real benefit of N2 is there is no moisture in it and in some areas it is easier to obtain.

Can we use our Airforce air bottles with Nitrogen or do we need a “special” bottle?
If we need a special bottle, other than airforce, where can we get one?
