Q:

Career Ultra 9mm

Can anyone tell me anything about this rifle as I seem to be getting conflicting numbers on it. I’ve heard that it will shoot at about 120fpe at max power (which sounds very low) and I’ve also heard of over 200fpe with very heavy 9mm bullets. Also, PyramidAir says that it will only shoot the Dae Sung pellets but is there a way around this so that buckshot of bullets can be used? Lastly, it’s obviously loud, but what is the shot count and accuracy like?

Nuglor: yes I saw that you had offered to buy that Career. Congratulations, and so please report back.

Congrats Nuglar! looking forward to some shooting/hunting reports. If you’ve got a place to shoot these boomers man they have got to be an absolute blast! That 9mm Eun Jin pellet is just flipping HUGE.

Tofaz, can you replace the o-ring(s) easily? like the ones in the Talons Breech slide or is it something you have to take the gun apart for?

Jim.

I bought an Ultra 9mm off the yellow forum this past week. It should be here in a few days and I’m looking forward to it. I’ve learned some good info from this post and hope to learn more once I get it. I’m interested to know what kind of mods need to be done to make it more accurate and reliable. Of course more power never hurts either. 😆

Ah, I see. I knew that you had the 9mm, Ced, but couldn’t remember if it was the Ultra. I’m kind of tempted to swop my Condor for a Career but will probably pass and get something sub-compact instead.

What up guys??? yeah TEF, i had the 9mm ultra. I honestly loved the gun and all but man….it was very heavy. Like 10-11 pounds heavy. As far as power and bullets, i did use a variety of projectiles that were mentioned above. I never had any jams whatsoever. I just removed the loading port shuttle which is adjustable depending on the type of projectile used. I also had some accuracy work done my TIM at MAC-1. He also replaced my factory orings with the 90 durometer 1’s. I did some power mods to it myself. With the 70 grain 000 buckshot i was getting just under 1000 FPS. But they were by far the most accurate round tested in that gun. Now some guys that own the 9mm Fire201, which is the single shot version, swear by the 148 gr DEWC (double ended wadcutters used in 38 special target rounds) rounds for utmost accuracy. I never tried them in my gun…….guess i should have though.

I will tell you though, in stock form, the 9mm ultra needs some basic mods done to it. My ate my probe orings in exactly 100 shots (then it went to mac-1 and he said “i told ya this thing eats orings like crazy”)

Tofaz had one that I thought he got up to 250 fpe and I’m 99.9% sure he shot all kinds of stuff out of his…cast bullets(www.customcast.com pure lead, Eun Jins, round ball etc. From the factory I thought they were in the 150 fpe ballpark but I have never owned one so I only can repeat what I’ve read.

Someone else on here has one too don’t they? weren’t they going to shoot Nutria or something like that?

Those guns are SOOOOO tempting…LOVE the 9mm!

Jim.
