Q:

Carbon Fiber Tube Shroud

I used the Rockwest composites’ carbon fiber for shroud. If you know more cheap carbon fiber tube, please let me know.

ive seen what your on bout, and why not use an old fishing pole to make shrouds with, sounds like it would work to me guys, hope this helpsjust a little,,,,,,,

I really dont know if there would be a difference either. I only know my shroud does a good job. The tube is fiberglass inside, unidirectional carbon, then woven carbon outside. It appears to do a really good job and is capable of holding a lot of pressure.

On my S410 the aluminum shroud wasnt very effective due to the baffles AA used. When I made my carbon shroud, I made an aluminum baffle system but made a bad design of them. Most the air is forced out the muzzle and cant come back into the shroud tube.
It is still quieter than the old AA shroud, so I got the feeling carbon was the way to go. I do intend to redo the whole thing, but its on the backburner.

I don’t believe carbon will ever bulge over time, and Im not too concerned if it splits. It takes quite a bit to make this stuff fly apart.

hmmm i dont know, its what i’ve been told

I use carbon, .060 wall 1.25 ID for mine. I really doubt you can get much quieter.

The only sound is mechanical, you wouldnt know air was involved if you saw it for the first time.

fiber tubes need thicker walls than aluminum to be the same level of sound proof

carbon is cool and all, but mostly you can get an aluminum tube that weighs only a tiny bit more for less…of course the carbon is stiffer, and and wont dent like aluminum will…

check out various hobby/ RC plane stores, they sell carbon tubes for rc airplane wings, sometimes you can pick up a small piece for very little

😕

Selling what specifically, filament wound?

I made an order recently and there are set lengths on many of their tubes except the filament wound ones (such as the lengths you mention). And the Tube shop sells in longer than 6″ lengths btw…

Are you looking ONLY for filament wound? What size? What finish? Wall thickness?

You are not providing enough information to get the answer you appear to expect… 😕

These guys have some things cheaper than RockWest…

RockWest is selling per 11.75″, 12″ or 21″ length unit. However, Cargon Fiber Tube Shop is selling per 6 inches, the cost per one (1) inch seems to be lots higher than RockWest… Thaks anyway…
