Q:

Carbon fiber tanks

Ok, so where can I find some? I tried googling but didn’t have much luck finding 4500psi carbon fiber tanks. There are a couple on airhog but the minitank isn’t large enough (they said about 8 fills on a condor .25) and the big one is over $500 just for the tank.

What I’d like is one that’s around 33 cubic feet. Is there a good place thave has a bunch of cf tanks? Thanks

I dont know all the abreviations but here is what I use to get it set up

I have my stuff set up so I can plug them in with male fosters. So my airforce, air arms, career all use male fosters to plug into the hose on the tank. This way I am only removing the adapters as needed.

You also need a male to male adapter so the scuba shop can fill it like a paintball tank.

Ok thanks again for the link… I called them yesterday and the guy said I could get just the tank alone (44 cf $225) and that it comes with a “DIN” valve. He said he wasn’t a condor expert but that I could probably get an adapter to go between my gun and the DIN valve; who sells something like that? Also I’m figuring I’ll need an adapter from DIN to paintball filler so the shop can fill it and I should be good to go right(?) Thanks

Yay! Now we’re getting somewhere 🙂 Thanks I’ll give them a call. I like that 44 foot one…

I called Mac1, didn’t have any….

And I called Joe and after all was said and done a 66 cf was going to cost me about $385 on a tank with 5 years left on it. If I can’t beat that I’d rather get the airhog one for just a few bucks more.

So yes I DO read the posts.

Make sure the scuba tank is rated at least to 3000psi. Steel tanks range from 2400(very common 72ci tank) to 3500psi(more expensive larger tanks).

Aluminum tanks are 3000 or 3300 and mostly 80cf.

Well this is the guy I was/am considering buying a tank from: http://www.hamcontact.com/airgun/HoseAssembly/

I guess I don’t understand why I only need a scuba adapter for a scuba tank that is steel/aluminum, but yet I need the $140 hose if I’m buying a CF tank?

I recently bought a 44 cu ft CF from Mac1 for a $100 bill. Its a Scott AirPak brand and I think has something like 7-8 years left on the life.

Joe Brancato on the Yellow classifieds also sells CF tanks, he is who I bought my other 66 cu ft tank from.

I think if you’re looking for smaller than 44 cu ft, Airhog would be the source for new ones, can’t recalll seeing many used that size.
