Q:

barrel droop, frame and barrel not in-line?

just wondering why air rifles cant be regulated. ive had one springer that you could visually see the barrel pointed down past the line of sight on the reciever. had one c02 rifle that used up all the scop[e adjustments. and one pcp rifle that used up all the windage adjustment. these were all different mounts scopes etc what gives. never had any trouble with centerfire or rimfires. any comments ?

I don’t think anyone, expecially government, should watch over airguns.

As soon as they figure out that a kid like me can get a 500fpe airgun through the mail they’ll expand those firearm laws onto airguns. 🙁

I agree with both statements 100%.

sorry i didnt make myself clear. the people that make these airguns could find a way so that you would not have to buy drooper mounts , adjustablemounts, shim your current mounts etc. do they own stock in the mount makers or what. you spend 200.00–.300.00-400.00 for a rifle then another 100.00 plus for a scope then after youve mounted the scope you find out you need 60.00 mounts. p.s. as far as government regulation we dont need any more. have a good day

Kingpin,
Guess I don’t follow what you mean by “regulated”. Regarding the scope item; that’s why the make drooper scope mounts and adjustable scope mounts. In part the droop may be design related in some cases. I’ve had a couple powder burners were not quite right.
You can find adjustable and drooper scope mounts in this list.

Oh lol. Well you probably knew I was a crazy libertarian conspiracy theorist anyway.

I guess they just get away with it in the airgun industry. Its mostly kids that get bb guns and pellet guns.

He think he means Quality Control as opposed to a watchdog or government regulation.

Regulated by whom? The government? The consumer should regulate production standards through demand.

I don’t like the idea of government regulation of weaponry. I do think that airgun manufacturers (in general) have poorer quality control than firearms manufacturers. But I don’t know how it could be regulated effectively.

I would be all for some sort of airgun industry watchdog (private firm).
