    Hello everyone,
I’ve got a standard 22 mutant that I enjoy shooting except for the “ping” noise from the hammer area when it’s fired. If it wasn’t for this “ping” noise the gun would be silent, well I have an extra Donny FL mod on it so that helps too..

Any suggestions? Hopefully someone has fixed this issue already, I’m handy enough with things to follow instructions if you have them.

I have never known a taipan to ping…
As mentioned before I would pull out that hammer spring and inspect..

Ken how fast is the gun shooting? I’ve own 2 standard mutants neither of them ever pinged. Only thing I can think of is the hammer being turned all the way up. Can you shake it up and down and hear the hammer rattle?

Milksack has it right. Back the hammer spring out a bit and see if that resolves the problem. The cause of the “ping” is the hammer striking the valve to release compressed air and fire the gun.

If this does not resolve the problem, send me the gun. I can live with the ping, and you can purchase another brand of pcp that won’t ping. While you will incur the loss of the shipping and purchase price of the gun, this is fair because it will permanently resolve your problem!

There is no need for thanks. PM me for shipping details.

    Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot
