Q:

Adjustable Stock

Ive been tinkering with this for over a year now and all i can say is im pissed off making the dam thing. The bigger question is what to do with it once its finished . I made this butt stock to try differant programs and machine opps on my mills just to see what would happen. So im reaching the point when it could be finished 😕 but its not good enough to sell. Its made out of scrap alloy most of which is tool plate which will not anodise very well and also its got machine marks that make it a second in my opinion.
So what to do ???? …..sell for a knock down price ( because i need the cash ) and let someone paint it or ….. is it time for a competition before Xmas with some annoying question that youve got no chance of getting right no matter how many answers you throw at it ?
Its a tuff choice …….hmmm !

Zeds dead baby…. 😮

You could always use the ring for an ankle cuff.

Really neat design. Kinda looks like the claw on a robotic arm, it might be overkill for an airgun but if you’re wearing a space suit: IT WILL NOT SLIP.

If you don’t need it, concede it. Beer is better than clutter.

I’d sell it, Those always some idiot who will pay for it………… 😉 how much is it going to set me back 😀

Looks good, but I’d like to see it on a rifle to get an over all view.

Ahh…I figured by tool mark you ment the swirls and or chatter left behind…but not having enough lead in to allow for cutter comp to pick up your d value will defiantly leave a mark.. 😯 …can’t say as I’ve ever done that 😳 …Greg

Was he that good ! what beer did he give you ! im very fussy.. WK ….. if so thats an offer too good to turn down ! 😀 book me in 😀

Give it to Pablok for hand job and a beer 😀

I used this butt to learn programing on , leadins being the main thing i wanted to solve. If you dont program a leadin ( ie. a movement before the cutter touches the metal ) then you get a cutter mark , a sort of undercut. It wouldnt take much to polish it up but im done with this one !.

I tell ya what bubba , how bout you send it my way for some destructive testing and ill tell us what I think….oh and i’ll cover the postage to help… 😀

But really it looks awsome..if it were me I would go and buy some scotchbrite wheels and use them to get rid of all the machine marks and leave a nice uniform brushed finish and then hit it with clear coat or have powder coated…but that’s just me…Greg

So would you put the ring round the air bottle then bolt the stock part to the ring, you got a pic with it attached? Got to say i like the pattern, reminds me of a bike foot peg i had on my old Aprilia
