Q:

3M Scotch-Brite™ pads color chart–>

Ever wonder what color of pad is what? 😯

http://academic.evergreen.edu/projects/biophysics/technotes/fabric/finish.pdf
Green =600 grit (not on list).

Reminds me of the old corn cob ass wipes.
Use a brown one first. Then a white one to see
if you need another brown one.

Yea-that’s what I thought. We don’t need that embedding mess anyway.

thanx

Martin; the feature that enables the embedding of videos messes up the “QUOTE” feature, so I have disabled it/changed the code back to what it was before. The Quotes will now work again, but at the expense of embedded video.

Sorry.

quote Rhoderman:

…if I could only find a use for it…

Tampons–Right there on the label.

Might be a tad uncomfortable but hey–
they’re re-usable.

Tron–How come the /quote ain’t working?

I found this blue shit at Ace in the kitchen cleaner section:

It seems to be non-abrasive, plastic of some kind.
Now if I could only find a use for it, cut into 1″ wide strips and rolled over a piece of plastic pipe with holes in it, etc… Hmmm…

Martin,
Sorry missed that in my haste.
Just blew up another moderator haha. Get a kick out of playing with them every summer. The non woven stuff is a kick because it is so large. Mostly made of air but that’s what makes the stuff sort of interesting in combination with moderators.
Thanks for posting the reference.
Use to work with the stuff so holds some interest.

quote mikemv:

There is a white hand pad type, I would need to look up the number that has lowest abrasive action.

Top of the chart is white—finest 1200-1500.

Those are finish equivalents on a given sub straight. The mineral bonded in the non woven is a different mineral size. No big deal depending upon what you want to use it for and how you use it.
Non woven for a moderator could be one of many. There is a white hand pad type, I would need to look up the number that has lowest abrasive action.
Non woven’s is a big field.
Brings to mind I haven’t tested certain woven’s which may be worth the time.
😉

Thanx, I’ve wondered what abrasive value they were. Glad you found it 🙂

Yep-found it. Green=600 grit. 8)

Yes, 3M scotch brite like the kind found for kitchen use. Just the pad, no sponge I’ve used them sanding/polishing
