Q:

.25 36 grain Solid lead Daystate Pellets.

When I was ordering my Air Ranger today I found out a guy at AOA shoots these out of his Condor so I ordered up a box. Anyone else try them in a Condor?

Daystate Rangemaster “TWENTYFIVE”

Caliber Quantity Weight Length Nose Shape
.25 250 36 grains 0.409″ Dome

The Rangemaster .25 was specifically designed to shoot well in magnum precharged pneumatic airguns.

They shoot well enough out of my 18″ barrel, they are just alittle light weight for what I want for a hunting round out of a .25 Condor…

I am waiting on Jerry to get these 50 gr. slugs of his, out and I am then going to have a shoot-off between several choice rounds to see just which gets the nod around here with my Condor…

The 36 gr. Rangemasters may very well end up being the best thing since a good graphite treatment in the hammer slide area of the breech on these guns LOL… Don’t know just yet

One round I have yet to order and try is the even lighter in weight, .25
poly tipped- Predator’s!!! I know I have really enjoyed shooting these in a .22 size… Just for killing paper, they cut such nice round holes in paper, they look like its been punched out LOL… Don’t like them at all for hunting or anything out in distance…

The .25 round of the Predator’s at 26 gr. maybe about the sameway, fun on paper at 25 yards on out to about 50 yards and on good calm days LOL… I need to order some of those just to check them out…

You guys shoot these, if so what did you think of how they did and with what length of barrel and what speed did you shoot them???

might wanna try dry moly powder, graphite gets some lubricity from interlamellar moisture, and it is also supposed to be corrosive to aluminum, ironically enough…

WOW, didn’t know that… That doesn’t sound good at all to be inside an air rifle… Going to be cleaning mine out now… Thanks for sharing that very important info…

Well I tested the Daystate .25 36 grain pellets in the Condor, Marauder, and the Air Ranger. The Condor did the worst at about 1.5″ at 30 yards (not worth measuring). In the Marauder they did about 5/8″ at 30 yards and about 1/2″ with the Air Ranger which is exactly twice the size group I am getting with JSB Kings in the Ranger at that range. In the Marauder they do beat what I get from Eun Jins for what thats worth. Surefires still rule the roost in the Condor for casts and I have tested 8 different cast bullets or extra heavy pellets including the Daystate.

The 50 gr RNFB are a beast at 930fps rips thru a empty propane tank at 50yds.

Where do you buy 50 RNFB (what does that mean) ?

I shoot the 25 cal predators and love them. They take squirrels out to 100 yards haven’t tried to shoot them any further. In my condor they shoot 4 clicks right or 1 inch right from my 50 yard zero. Basically from my 50 yd zero I click 4 clicks left and hold the 3rd mildot down and something dies.

Yes – the big difference again is the BC. Because they are solid the longer range energy is so much greater (maybe 40% more) than Cudas, etc. I was told they think the BC is over .09 vs maybe .042 for a .25 Cuda.

I’m not saying they are expensive compared to mr. Hollowpoints bullets. Im saying compared to zodiacs and barracudas which seem to hit just as hard and penetrate just as good and are just as accurate. As far as hunting goes I think they are not to over priced for long range hunting or hunting short range. I really liked them but am shooting heavier now. Good luck let us know how they work for you. I think you will like more as you shoot further out especially with the condor.

I am testing them in my Marauder for another Marauder owner as well. 250 solid 36 gr bullets for $32 seems like a real bargain next to the 35 grain mr hps. What is it 50 for $20? They are definitely designed for a choked LW barrel. I should get my new Air Ranger and those slugs by Monday or Tuesday.

I been shooting them for a couple of years. They shoot pretty good but at 32 bucks a box i would only hunt with them. They hit hard and are well built. I gave mine to Jim Gaska to shoot out of his maurader. They shoot better at long range than short range.
