Hey Mr.Ninja,

I sent a message from your airgun airbrushing website, did you ever get it? I sent it a day or two ago. Some questions about Duracoating. Thanks,

Dan

Sorry Dano, It was in my junkmail folder. Just sent you a reply.

Ninjas Camo Job looks so good he should be rewarded properly. Here you go big boy…and its not even your birthday… 😆

Airbrushes usually run off between 10 and 60 psi, so you’d need to use a regulator to run one off a scuba tank…. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one that goes from 3000 psi down to less than 100 psi, but I’m sure they exist.

You can buy cans of the propellant pretty cheap at anyplace that sells the airbrushes usually.

OR you can buy a tire adapter and use a spare car tire as the air source.

You can do that design no problems if you buy the kit or take some time making your own stencils. I have the catalogue and they show you step by step an easy way to get that kind of effect. I’ll scan that page and post it for you.

thanks YN…

i never played with airbrush b4… just wondering if use a dive bottle as air source… connect with pipe and paint gun… will it work as good as compressor?

will it possible to make the color and Patterns like this?

Boondock,

I didnt buy a starter kit (Airbrush, propellant and some paint etc) or a Camo kit (Stencils and paint, brush etc). I already have a compressor and an airbrush and just bought individual colours of duracoat from lauer.

I think if you went to a model or craft store then you’d find the stuff that comes in their starter kits pretty cheap like the paintbrush and propellant etc if you buy it yourself seperatly.

The stencils are $50 from Lauer…. which to me seems very expensive. I just bought some stuff called frisket film from a craft store for $10 for 15 sheets and cut out my own stencils.

If your going to do Camo on one gun I think the camo kits are pretty good value… because you get the stencils and the required colours and they give you the colours in 2oz sizes. if you buy it seperatly you have to buy the colour in 8oz and its $14 each.. which soon adds up and if you have just 1 gun your going to have a lot left over.

With you being in south africa, if your going to have to buy stuff in the US then it might just be better buying it from the same place otherwise S&H costs might run the prices up a lot.

I didnt really look into the kits that much so I might be wrong on some stuff above….

Yellow Ninja… which duracoat DIY kit did u buy? can it stay on the polished barrel?

Thats a slightly modified “Ergo Foxbat” grip.

You just need to drill a hole through middle, buy a longer section of threaded rod to attach it, make a channel in top of grip for frame… easy for someone who makes the things you’ve been posting here.

Thanks. I tried to look one from europe without luck. It’s not expensive but with taxes, customs and shipping it’s over 100$.
And I really would like to try out it first. It’s one of those grips that is perfect or your hand just don’t fit to it.

And assembled…

The scope still has tape residue from some camo tape that was on it. Wont camo the scope because I’m always switching them around.

Wow. That DOES look nice !
And I love your grip. Where can I place my order? 😀

where can i find more info on this camo? do you send it off to have it done or do it your self?

I did it myself, cut a stencil using an exacto knife and frisket film (airbrushing stencil) with Duracoat paint I bought online.

You can buy also buy the stencils by thmslves or in a kit along with the required paint for different camo schemes from Lauer Custom Weaponry.

I was going to start duracoating guns and stuff for people… but it takes up too much of my time so I “fired” myself….

Yellow Ninja just finished that recently. He used Duracoat which is a gun finish that is very durable and can be done in many colors and designs. He did it himself and now he is a Green Camo Ninja!
