|
|
Weapon: EDgun Matador standard, caliber .22, speed of the pellet 952 f/sec.
Scope: Tasco SS 10х42, standard MilDot reticle (4 mils on each side). To adjust the scope I had to put four strips cut off the plastic water bottle under the rear scope ring.
Pellets: JSB heavy, unsorted, unlabricated, just from the can.
Distance: 230 meters (251 yards), measured with the Nicon 800 rangefinder.
Conditions of the shooting: The shooting from the table, the shooter was sitting on the chair. The gun on the front and rear gun rest. The calm weather almost no wind. The temperature of the air 30 degrees Centigrade (86 F).
Target: Balloons, the size about 300x250 mm (11.8x9.8 inches)
Task: To see the reality of the effective shooting using standard PCP airgun with standard pellets with standard speed at the distance 200 meter (226 yards) and more.
Results: In video.
Personal remarks: The shooting was a real pleasure, I was in a good mood, maybe due to the lovely music playing nearby. The weather was really wonderful, the complete silence, no wind, just put a car between shooting table and the sun, to be in a shadow – perfect place. The funny thing, before this 230 meters (251 yards) shooting we tried to shoot at 265 meters (289 yards) using the same targets and understood how difficult it was and stepped back. I just begin to understand that such distance shooting the influence of the pellet weight is too overestimated. For me, personally, to shoot such a distance the most important thing is how I keep the gun. The bad thing is that I understood that only towards the end of the shooting (different distances). I got the difference in vertical line about 4 mils just due to the strength of keepinggun. If leave it free on the rest – impact in the cross, if to keep it – four mils down. So the mane conclusion of this shooting to train yourself of shooting. As I told already – there are no limits! In fact, the real, resulting shooting using the standard gun, standard pellets and standard distance is about 100-120 meters (110-130 yards) to shot further – just for fun. But the very important thing of shooting such distances you have chance to feel you mistakes, to improve them that, finally will give the shooter a chance to be more effective at the same 110-130 yards. So that is just revealing of you possibilities and nothing more
Conclusions.: The real distance for plinking. The necessary things::
c) To use the scope base with the angle, it is not good to keep the scope with the turret up to the limit, you never know how it works.
d) Be very carefull with the shooting place, table, chair, gun rest….
g) To shoot, shoot, shoot as much as possible, the distance is real there was just lack of shooting experience.
Hope you liked it
With the best regards
Ed

What your shooting at the distance is awesome. Obviously the gun and the shooter are on target. It never ceases to amaze my what people think of to do with an air gun. It amazes me more when they actually do it! nice shooting that is just too friggin cool. _________________ shoot it or stick it either way its going down. bow or gun I will kill something |

| I wonder what the results will be if the Edgun is turned up to 40-50fpe using a longer barrel with the correct twist rate for the JSB Monsters [25 grainers]... |

very cool video. Your having way too much fun. Perfect back stop! Shows pellet impact easily! That's probably how them boys hold those long distance shots in those dusty valleys. They can easily see their missed shots. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct3CcR3c4oM
