You guys don't know Ibanez?? Been around a long time. It was a 2 ax show, basically, either you picked Gibson or a Strat. There were a lot of other smaller makes that made really good stuff, then Ibanez mounted an aggressive ad campaign back in the late 70's with lead spokesman Carlos Santana doing most of their advertising. It worked. I've never tried one, prefer Gibsons myself.

aloha,
walt

I had a really expensive guitar for a while (unfortunately it was not a Jem), it was a signature series from some guitarist in a band thats kind of hardcore... It was an OK guitar, for the $1500 is was supposedly worth it was a POS and didn't sound all that good. To me a guitar that expensive should sound as good as a top end Les Paul (Ie, real hardwood). I like heavy crunchy guitars sounds (maple body) this is a Strat type, bluesy sounding guitar...

This Jem is a player for the body construction, typically very, very low action and a deadly fast fretboard, extra long (24 frets, typically 21 is a lot)... Even with my beefy hands these guitars are super easy to play and they play fast. If I didn't make my own i'd think seriously about this one...

From memory I believe this thing has a cutout handle on the left side (top when playing)...

Does it have scalloped frets too? Wink

Basswood/Alder body with a maple neck...
